We’re almost certain that whatever your question is, we’ve answered it before. Here are some candid answers that may help. However, unlike most big companies, we believe that things are better over the phone because you can tell us your situation better. The Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) is a standardized test, owned and published by the College Board, and is widely used for college admissions in the United States. To find out more about the SAT, click here.
Admissions are competitive, and hence you should aim for a high percentile rank. The percentile rank indicates the percentage of tests taken with scores lower than you for the most recent three-year period. Every year, each test taker’s score is updated with the most recent year’s percentiles.
“Good” is subjective, and the definition of a “good score” depends on your objective. Most schools publish average scores of the admitted class. If you are from an over-represented group (e.g. Indian Male Engineer), or if you reside in a region known for higher scores (e.g. Singapore), then you should aim to score commensurately higher than these averages for your target schools.
There are fixed test dates for the SAT. Candidates need to schedule their test in advance at College Board website.
In Singapore, you may take the test at eight locations:
Anderson Junior College
4500 Ang Mo Kio Ave 6, Singapore 569843

The test fee is US$117.50 with the essay, and US$100.50 without.
For any SAT II Subject Tests, the registration fee is US$26 plus US$22 per subject (excluding Language Tests with Listening which cost US$26)
If you believe you have a disability that prevents you from taking the SAT under standard conditions, you may request accommodations.
A decision regarding your accommodation request may take up to seven weeks. You must apply for and receive an accommodation decision before scheduling your test date.

About SAT Preparation
The duration of preparation required depends on multiple factors:
- Your target level of performance
- Your initial level of performance
- Number of hours you can devote to preparation every week
- Speed at which you internalize the concepts and approach
Most of our students sign up for the Hybrid Course. The Hybrid Course is highly recommended as it is a combination of unlimited group classes, and a certain number of individual hours. This is our most popular option, since it gives students access to the group classes to learn the fundamentals and the basic strategies, and the individual hours that can be used to work on your weaknesses and pull up your score.
It can be difficult to assess upfront how many hours you may need. That’s why we offer a refund guarantee* on unused individual hours.
Buy the maximum number of hours your budget permits, because the more hours you buy upfront, the higher the discount you get. If at the end, you find you haven’t used up all the hours you bought, that’s not a problem. You can downgrade to a smaller package, and get a refund for the difference. In other words, you can downsize to the basic Hybrid any time (whereas upsizing later is more expensive).
*Contact our team to learn more about the refund policy
We’re different. When you register for a group course, you get unlimited access to all our group classes, in all our groups. It’s less of a purchase and more of a membership. Attend the same class as many times as you need to grasp the concepts completely!
We start new SAT group course “batches” every weekend, so you have the opportunity to attend a “make-up” class with another group at no additional charge.
We recommend that students do their best to attend each class but we also do understand that SAT test takers have a number of other responsibilities and will thus do our best to accommodate your unique circumstances. If you tell us your restrictions (e.g. “I can only come on Sun mornings” OR “I need to finish in two months” OR “I want to have a class once a month for the next 1 year”), we will come up with a personalised timetable for you.
Of course! Our course designers come from various academic backgrounds – business, law, physics, mathematics – and have formulated specific frameworks to help you analyze, understand and answer all the SAT question types. Hence, regardless of your background, this course has the right ingredients to help you overcome your weaknesses and ace the test.
In order for you to get a 1500+ score, we need you to work – but we prefer you to work smart. There will be work for you to do at home (online) with the specific purpose of getting you used to the concepts and techniques we cover. As much online simulation (preferably under time pressure) is what you need – and this is what we have planned for you.
